RTS supplies another test rig for the new Knorr-Bremse Development Center

In June of this year, a further development test rig was successfully handed over to the company Knorr-Bremse. The youngest wheelset test rig to be put into operation is one of the for RENK test systems in the new Knorr test center in Munich. RTS is especially supporting Knorr by being able to rapidly validate and implement forward-looking technical concepts for customers.

The supplied wheelest test rig for railway use simulates driving up to 350 km/h for bogie wheels or complete bogies. In this way, the test rig can model all track gauges, standards, and various environmental conditions, such as rain, driving wind, and temperatures.
With the other three test systems built by RENK, it is a question of whether to test with flywheel brake dynamometers, which can simulate full braking, for example, or to test brake discs under extreme conditions, such as on deformation, crack resistance, and noise emission.
